| | 10 easy around the neighborhood with Allison. 7:35 pace
|
| | AM: 10 miles with a couple easy then some strides then 6 x 3/4 mile with a 1/4 mile jog between. I ran them all 4:06-4:09. I was really tired by the end. I was happy to get all of them under 5:30 pace.
PM: 4 miles
|
| | AM: 8.1 miles 7:25 pace around the neighborhood. Legs were feeling yesterday.
PM: 4 miles at Freestone Park no watch.

| | Mixed bag today. Warmed up 3 miles then I went straight into a 4 mile tempo in 24:48 (6:12 avg.) which was meant to be marathon pace. My legs were tired so it was much more difficult than it should have been. After the tempo I did 8 x 200 w/200 jogs in about 36-37 avg. those felt good. I'm trying to get some speed and power back so I'll be mixing in some shorter quicker stuff. Good day of training overall. Much needed day off tomorrow.

Gilbert Peeps 5k (3.11 Miles) 00:17:05, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | This was a small local race that was close to home with a carnival for the kids so it was hard to pass up. It was myself and a high school kid together in the lead for the first mile in 5:34 and then he fell off after that. I was able to pick it up the second mile and ran 5:28. The third mile was tough but I was able to hold it together ok and ran 5:32. The last .1was 29 seconds. I'm pretty happy with the time. I just started getting back into the workouts so this shows that I'm improving pretty quickly. The course was flat and pretty fast with the exception of a few hairpin turns. My wife won the women's race and the kids had a great time so it was a good morning.

| | AM: 10 miles w/10 x 1/4 mile in 73-74 avg. w/equal jogging rests. This was a pretty hard one for me. It's been a while since I've done 400s this fast and I could feel it.
PM: strength and conditioning class
|
| | 5 mile warmup then into 8 x 1 mile with a 5:48 avg. 1 min jogs for the rests. This was a tough one but I'm improving and I'll take it. Ran a couple easy miles with my wife to finish it off.

| | Met with John, Natalie, and Tanaya at Horse Lovers Park in Scottsdale. We started at 5 with headlamps and warmed up 6 miles before starting a 2 x 4 mile workout. Rest was a 1 mile jog between sets. We were on a mostly flat dirt trail in the desert which was nice to avoid any traffic. We were targeting 6:10 and we were right there. A little fast on the first set and right on for the second. Cooled down a couple after to make 17 for the day. Effort was harder than marathon pace but a always felt like I could pick it up. Really good workout for me.
