Total Distance
10.40

10.4 Miles with 8 x 1k. Plan was to go through 800 in around 2:40 then finish the last 200 in 35. I did these on the road so it didn't quite go as planned but it did go well. Rests were 200 walks which seemed like a lot. Splits were 3:13, 3:12, 3:11, 3:09, 3:11, 3:10, 3:09, 3:08. I think I was running the last 200 in around 35 seconds. I felt good today and not wiped out after this one.

When you are running shorter reps on the road, are you using the Garmin? I don't even think mine does 1K splits. I was actually thinking of buying a measuring wheel off Amazon and marking off a bunch of different distances on my tempo loop so I can ditch the Garmin on road workouts and do something other than 1 mile reps (the only spot on that loop I am 100% sure of).

Yes Jake I'm using a Garmin and I do almost all my workouts on the road. I have the 610 and I can choose mile or kilometers and pretty much pick the distance (can even do 200s by choosing .2 kilometers for auto lap). For this one I set it to 1k and just picked a light pole around 1/2 mile to pick it up for a kick finish on each one. Buying the wheel would be a good idea if you're not buying a new watch.

Yeah I guess the better Garmins have a lot more customization than my 110.

This time of year I can get on the track though. I might do the wheel thing eventually, though.

Good workout, by the way. I like how you break down these longer reps into 2 parts and finish them with a bit of a kick.

Very solid workout Derek, you should be happy with it.

I also use my Garmin 610. I love being able to switch to kilometers if I want and changing the autolap splits. You can do workouts anywhere you want.
