Pretty good race today. Basically on par with what I've done lately but I had a decent finish and that always feels good. I was 27 seconds faster than last year and was sub 52 which is what I wanted. Splits were 5:43,5:25,5:24,5:19,5:26,5:33,5:44,5:50,5:27, 1:51 (.37). This race has big money so I ended up running with some of the top women for a lot of the race. The top men were well ahead and I only saw them after the race. There is a big hill at around 7 miles and I didn't have much after that last year so I left a little bit in the tank this year and was able to have a good finish. That helped my time a lot. This is a great race and the post race is awesome. Tons of good awards and lots of beer. I took home a dinner for four at Chipotle and a 12 pack of Kilt Lifter beer. My kids also had a great time playing in the grass and park. It was a great morning for running!

Nice run Derek. Glad to see you take a nice chunk off your best time on the course.

Wow - that's a ridiculously fast 22nd place. :)
