Still no exercising this week but I wanted to share a blog I wrote about the things I learned from the marathon. I'm getting excited every Saturday now to hear about the Utah guys Saturday runs. It's very inspirational to hear about the big group going out and hammering these runs with 2:20-2:25 guys all over the place.  Sounds like fun.  Have another good one today guys.  I'll be back running in a couple days.

That's a great blog post, Derek. Tons of good info there. You've learned a lot during this past year of running and its great that you are paying it forward.

Downhill running is definitely an advantage, but only if you train for it. I think you were actually at a bit of a disadvantage considering its impossible to do much sustained quad-bashing where you live.

I am really impressed by how you stuck to your plan and ran by feel. I'm going to remember that come March and make sure I follow your example.

Have you thought about what's next? I'm sure you have... :-)

Thanks Jake. I really enjoyed writing this one. I'm looking Runners Den 5k or 10k in Feb, Phoenix Half, Mountain to Fountain and Carlsbad. The best time for me to run a marathon is May/June but I don't know if I'll be mentally ready. Not ruling it out but not sure. Maybe we can get together for a run while you're here. It will have to be on one of your super easy days.

That's a good plan. You guys have a handful of very good races down your way in the winter / early spring months.

We'll definitely have to do some runs next week when I'm down there.
