AM: 8 easy miles. Hip pain was still there but was much better. Aleve and ice is working. This week will be about staying healthy and absorbing the effort from the half marathon.

PM: 4.35 miles including 6 x100 stides in the grass at the end.  Really nice run and great weather.  Felt good to be out there.

Trust in your training (in terms of what you've done over the past couple months) these next couple days, Derek. Missing one workout won't hurt you... but running a marathon w/ hip pain will definitely slow you down. Just get healthy, that's the most important thing you can do right now. The way you finished the race on Sunday means that you're fit and ready - just don't do anything silly.

Thanks Jake. I'm not planning anything big this week with the exception of a normal paced 22 on Sunday. I can tell myself the things that you said but it has a lot more power coming from somebody else so I appreciate it. Take care.

You'd tell me the same thing if the tables were turned around. We both know the right things to do, but like you said, sometimes its good to hear it from outside your own head :-)
